Ronald Peavy finally got a much needed victory for Dodge on Austrian soil today as the team finally recorded back to back victories.
While Gmünd - Gmünd is a Division 5 race, the unexpected victory was vital in boosting flagging team spirits after a dismal run in previous weeks. All of a sudden, with two brilliant rides in a week, the Dodge camp is high in confidence and raring to go once again.
While Ian Defley suprised no one with a high energy win at the Spanish Vuelta, Peavy's victory at Gmünd - Gmünd was made all he more satisfying as he became the first rider other than Defley to win a race in the team's short history.
Eli Harkins also snagged a landmark podium place, coming in a close third after beating his rivals to the line in a close bunch sprint. Robert Howarth rounded the placings up with a career high 6th place.
The team will head for an extended break before they tackle the arduous 145km Veracruz - Puebla road race in Mexico. While the first ever edition promises to be a tough task, the team look readier than ever to make that important breakthrough.
